You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.” ~Henry David Thoreau

Thanksgiving in Spokane

We went to Spokane for a non-traditional no left-over thanksgiving dinner ...and my mom met up with us!! We enjoyed a matinee of Lion King, Movies, shopping and good eats. My favorite was not cleaning up after anything and just hanging out. Here are some pics.

Mimi comes to Spokane (Davenport hotel for dinner)

Happy & "full" Kiddos.

Random Photos....

~We are So excited about our new piece of art! A Russian artist that does some crazy stuff (www.VladmirKush.com) I really wanted to find an apple that we could have in our home, but not so still life and blah. It really is much better in person!
~Cozy was sick for a few days and spent a lot of time in bed reading. Of course she was not too sick to keep dressing up. This dress Benny's nurse Mel got her when she went to Mexico and she loves it. A little too cold and not good at covering things (like her "nickels" is what she calls them!)
~Atticus' school really got into Veterans Day and what it meant. He had me looking up facts from different World Wars so I could keep up with his questions! The last photos are of our hike on Veterans Day (you can see the back of our house in the one photo). Atticus was really put out when he realized we didn't have a flag to put in front of the house. That didn't stop him....He drew one up, found some tent stakes, and voila! Determination is his middle name!

FALL SALSA!

This is what happens around here when you go visiting teaching to pro-gardeners at the end of harvest. I couldn't resist and made salsa to have through the winter!
(The kids loved the fresh grape juice too!!)

mmm..WOW..eee !

slideshow below is some of the photos from our trip to MAUI. (fyi~ we traveled from Wailea, Hana (fav), to Kanaapali) I realize people don't really care to look at tons of pictures of scenery of "OUR" great vacation. We really didn't take that many pictures anyhow! I always was bored with my grandparents photos from trips they took esp. the ones without people in them.
I also edited and left some out so that it would be PG rated...and you are SO welcome!!

MAUI!

ALOHA! It has been almost 4 years since I have been trying to find a way to get back to my favorite place, MAUI! After knowing it wouldn't happen in residency, fellowship, and then in Chelan where only 2 doctors were at the clinic (that's 2 docs counting Benny)...well, we finally did it!! I think after a crazy summer it was much needed!
Thanks SO much for Grandmommy for watching the kids for 8 days! I don't know how she did it, but we will always appreciate her sacrificing her time away from PA to take care of the kids & let us have this time together!! THANK YOU XOXO!!
We really went to relax...no tv, work, making food, waking up to an alarm,...etc. Though on the way over on the long flight Benny did end up hanging out in first class when a lady drank too much and then hit her head while standing up too fast. It was kind of comical for me that before the trip even started he was working and "on call" by the flight attendants for the rest of the flight.
What an awesome vacation it was!!!!
When I get over my jet lag (how long does that last?) I will photobucket all the photos & add a top 10 list! Mahalo!
