You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.” ~Henry David Thoreau

" I see Famous people !?"

To many of my family members and especially my hubby I have been known to spot or attract famous people. The joke is now that I really only have one good eye (which I guess is true), but I believe they are who I think they are. My list is actually longer than the few photos below and I am proud to add Billy Bob Thornton to the list. Sitting in the hot tub at slide waters with Atticus and Cozy as witnesses (okay, so they have no clue) it was obvious to me that he was trying to hide his identity. Give me a break, I can spot designer sunglasses, swim trunks (you know he felt strange with out that thong or speedo) and he was drinking a red bull and that's against hot tub rules, but no life guard seemed to care. So here we are....
"I see Famous people" ~ Me
"I see Sick People" ~Benny
"I see Dead People" ~Cozy
side note: the ladies in the bathtub, Cumber & Bubbles, no longer are there I was told by Cozy that Scary Potter scared them off :(

SLIDEWATERS!

Okay I didnt actually see him...Last Summer I was behind him in the drive thru at Starbucks. The guy working the window looked like he had seen a ghost and when I finally got it out of him that Jack Black was in the car in front I was too late. He was in Manson for a Wedding...Crazy, he is one of my favorites!

Josie Bisset from Melrose Place. They live in Bellevue and saw her at B. SQ Mall. Her kids played with mine on the boat toy.

Jaws from James Bond. Greg, was that in an airport?

No not Tommy...Kelly Mcgillis in Key West! Andy J. and Benny didn't believe me so I sent them into a womens store to get a closer look!

Winona Ryder in Mazatlan Mexico. My mom still doesn't believe that one.

"Schools out for summer!"

Wednesday was Atticus' last day of 1st grade! I cried like a baby! Cozy and I picked him up with the car filled with tons of balloons and a shark 3-D slip'n slide! We watched the teachers do their traditional wave as the buses drove away. That always makes me emotional! We spent the next few hours slip'n & slid'n! Good times!

"I'm going to China!~ Mom

Mom came to visit this past weekend, more like came to work. All day Saturday we planted flowers (see photos). Benny worked in the garden and the kids watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and ran ramped in the house. Thanks so much MOM for all your work!
I have just started setting up a blog for my mom. She wants it to be about "the things she forgot to teach her kids." I thought about it today on a run and wonder exactly what those things would be. I mean its not like we turned out so bad that she would feel she forgot to teach us important things that maybe would have made us better people. As a single parent of four she taught us to pursue our goals, appreciate & love art, be true to ourselves, and get the "heck" out of Utah to find other horizons (just to name a few). If you know my other siblings... well, we have done just that! So, look for the CG blog coming soon with great recipes and some inspiring "I forgots", which I am still wondering what they could possibly be. Thanks for coming.....Love you Mom!

No Underwear, No NuNu

Sunday our kids were angels. Benny and I couldn't figure it out. I was waiting for one of them to throw up or say they felt sick. They never did. I guess the way to describe them was just mellow. They even decided to sit away from us on the pew at church and just sit and chill. We took up the whole bench. It was strange. Later that night I asked Atticus how he felt hoping he had some insight for me and could explain the difference in the day. He thought about it and then said this," I didn't have any clean underwear in my drawer this morning so I went without." Like I have said before...Underwear, optional.
Who knows what was up with Cozy. Since a week ago we have been dealing with the trauma of giving up the NuNu (pacifier). Some of you may remember we tried getting rid of it 6+ months ago. Three days into it and I lost my mind. Having a sleep deprived husband, an energetic 6 year old, and being burned out as well made it difficult to give up the easy sleeping toddler. So, we have been telling her that when she turns 3 the Nunu fairy will come and take it(I know it's such rubbish). We are now a week into no NuNu and going without naps and major attitude in the evening. The plus is she sings more, the minus is she cries more. I think she was worn out sunday and finally got some good Z's. I still wish she would take that later afternoon nap! Any suggestions?
Here is a cute conversation we had out in the garden today when she was so tired...
Cozy: I need a NuNu!!
Mom: Why?
Cozy: Cuz I just need it!
Mom: you don't have one anymore, remember?
Cozy: (long pause) I'm going to get Atticus' money and the keys and drive to the market.
Ya know they have them. Lots of them there.
(Moms thoughts are now of a toddler midget driving to the store with her brothers stolen loot purchasing hundreds of NuNu's...all for comfort and joy!!!)

....She finally settled on some dried blueberries! Sometimes it's just about having something in your mouth!
