You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.” ~Henry David Thoreau

My Tree is STILL up...

Yes, I plan to keep my tree up until after Valentines day! We JUST got a ton of snow and it is feeling more like Christmas than it was during Christmas. Atticus said he wasn't "supportive", whatever that means. I pulled all the ornaments off and turned my heart coasters into ornaments leaving all the red ones up plus any hearts and the white lights. My aunt use to decorate her tree with small madame alexander dolls and leave it up through winter too. I feel good about it!
I am sure the neighbors are wondering.

Fire & Ice Festival

This is one of my favorite events in Chelan! It was really cold, but between going in the businesses and stopping by the fire pits to get warm, we had an great time! This year I think they had the best sculptures! They hired some professional face painters too instead of just getting the High School girls and I think that was a hit! We also got to hear Atticus' drum teacher rock it out in their family band. You cant tell from the photos, but it was pretty packed with people.
We didn't do the BIG Christmas tree bond fire, polar bear splash or see the fireworks because we were all tucker out and cold.
Photos: The Ice Slide, Atticus wanted to pose in every photo, flying Mermaid was cool, My fav. was the bear, Scarlett at home with her favorite Cottage Cheese!

January Project

Along with other goals for the NEW YEAR that I may post later, I have decided to work on something in my house each month this year.
So, for January we took off the door under the stairs which was a closet that I wanted to turn into a mudroom. Atticus helped paint the two walls and Benny, Atticus and Aden (Atticus' friend) put up the hooks. I have to add this story too because I have been laughing about it forever.....
When Benny took Aden home he had told his dad that he had done a project during his play date. His dad asked what they had done and Aden with all seriousness said, "We put Hookers in the mudroom!" His dad had a surprised look on his face and I have been laughing about it ever since!
Also, I found a bench to hold shoes in at ROSS for $40. I really wanted some wood cubbies from Land of Nod that the kids could literally throw there shoes in, but $150plus shipping seemed ridiculous.
(rather save that $ for a fun in the sun trip to CA!)
In the spring Id like to pull out the carpet and put flooring down. YES, there is still some more things to do with this, like change the light switch so its not white, touch up paint, add more "hookers", etc! It adds So much more extra space and a place you can't see to throw our junk. And the month isn't over yet, so I am still good! (Red Bull anyone?) Oh yes, any suggestions and help please comment!

Best angle I could get since it is right next to the door to the garage. Just tilt your head to the right and you'll see it! Voila!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We got a new years pet.....bubblegum!

We had our traditional fondue party (this is only half of the group)! We missed the Hinckleys this year! Atticus said after the party that it was, "chaotic fun!" Always the case when you have more kids than adults.

We cracked confetti eggs on each others heads for good luck. We love this tradition! Kole started us off as the youngest to participate. Of course he chose his dad.

Erik got Olivia and on and on......

OUCH!

What a pretty & sparkly mess!!

HAPPY 2012 to all our friends and family near and far!! xoxox
