You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.” ~Henry David Thoreau

MRS. LA MAR

We will ALWAYS remember her just as she is in this photo. She was Atticus' kindergarten teacher and we LOVED her! When she first found out she had breast cancer that fall of Atticus' first year we were so sad! With stage 5 cancer spreading to her brain she fought harder than anyone, with a positive attitude, and always with a smile! She is an example to me of a wonderful woman, mother, and teacher!
She will be GREATLY missed in our community and in many of our individual lives!

Happy Birthday COZY !

well ALMOST! She will be turning 5 next Tuesday and we will be busy celebrating, so I thought I'd get this on the blog now!
We're going to Seattle this weekend to celebrate with my mom. Going to Mary Poppins which I am maybe more excited than anyone about this!
Cozy has been all over the place with coming up with a theme for her party. It has gone from Barbie/Makeup (which I got some great ideas from a friend and actually was coming to terms with) to Halloween (okay, not excited to pull out those boxes again!) to night at the PROM (what?). Benny and I decided to just go with whatever she was planning for the day, and on the sly plan a surprise party! Shhhh...
So, that takes care of that!
Here are some fun photos of her birthdays from the years.....
WE just ADORE our SWEET COZETTE!!!

Star Wars comes to Seattle!

Star Wars exhibit at the Pacific Science Center! This was awesome!!
I took the girls half way through and let Benny and Atticus stay and soak it all in! I love the last photo with Cozy and the snow monster from Empire Strikes Back.
She is keeping one eye on him just in case!
(I am sure only Carmen Jensen would know what the name of this snow beast is! She is a Star Wars trivia expert!)

Cozy & Atticus

When your sick at our house (not sick enough to be in bed, but too sick to go to school) you do art projects at home. I figure the kids don't get the art education I think they should get, so I try to squeeze it in any chance I can!

Cozy had been wanting to paint the RAPUNZEL lantern mural, so we did it! She actually painted a lot of this and did an awesome job! (FYI: mix media of
oil, acrylic, and watercolor)

This is the art now hanging in her room. We took (with her permission)some of Aunt Mia's art from her house in Seattle!

Funny thing....My sister Liz sent Scarlett this H&M shirt. When I opened it Cozy thought it was for her and put it on. The size is 18-24 mos!! Is this childhood obesity already reflecting in our retail stores?
I just let Cozy think it was for her and she loves it!

Atticus' hair is getting "Justin Bieber" long-ish! I actually like it, but Benny likes the "missionary" haircut. I think boys look too grown-up with a short doo and too serious, plus its almost summer! The rule is, and Atticus reminds me of this is when its time for a trim, we have to get permission from Mimi. She said "a little trim" when we called her sunday and then she can take him when we see her in 2 weeks in Seattle!
What do you think? Short & Serious or Long & Lovely?
