Snowed In.

What to do when you are bored and snowed in?
Today Atticus was suppose to have a Lego camp (actually 2 days) and now it's cancelled and once again we are bored. My sister, in Seattle, is also dealing with lots of snow and lots of boredom. She got us hooked to a family game that I remember playing many Christmases at Fiddlers Green. Good Times! So, we have been "Snooding". Go here for free download of SNOOD
Both my Mom and sister Liz are in Switzerland visiting my Brother & his Family and so Mia and I are the lone ducks of our fam. calling each other many times to check on each others boredom!
Other than the mild boredom we did get out today to take Benny to work, grocery shop (I feel so much better with food in my house at a time like this),pick up packages at the post office, etc. Can I just say how much I love our Subaru!! I have passed many stuck cars (a lot of mini-vans, Benny!)and feel so powerful in my green machine!(scratch that~ i mean my BLUE machine, MIA!)

Side note: I love to shovel snow! I even got a BIG shovel for my birthday last year! The kids and I walked to Ace last Thursday and bought a beautiful yellow shovel with a metal rim. I left it out and it got stolen! I have been bitter ever since! If you see it please let me know!

Holy SNOW!

This seems all too familiar from last year. Different place, same amounts of snow! Today was a no school snow day and it has been snowing non-stop and hard since yesterday afternoon. These are the days when I wonder why I don't live in Maui, but then I get out in it and have a lot of fun! We haven't seen Benny since Tuesday night. I guess he will have to camp out at the hospital. There is only one road drivable to south hill (our area) and no buses coming up this way! Enjoy the cafeteria Benny!!
As you can see we got out and had some fun! We walked to Ace Hardware which I think we got some odd looks and bought a shovel and a sled! I shoveled behind my garage space for fun, but really don't plan on driving anywhere. I can't keep Atticus
inside and Cozy thinks today is colored marshmallow day... with a little cocoa! I am looking forward to using my snowshoes to hike to Starbucks...maybe when Benny makes it back!

Who's in the bathtub??

Imaginary friends are a part of childhood, though Atticus never really had any. I knew the day would come when Cozy would introduce us to her pretend friends. I remember Zoe our next door neighbor had a "friend" who took all the blame for her misdeeds (quite clever if you ask me) and then cousin Elsa and her "sisters". I thought they were all so cute & creative!
The past few days Cozy has not been getting her afternoon nap. Can you hallucinate from not enough sleep? So, in the car ride home she kept telling me about the "Two scary ladies in the bathtub". I didn't think anything of it, but she talked to Atticus about it, he questioned her, and then he laughed hysterically when Cozy would answer. She didn't think it was funny at all. This is serious stuff.
Here is some of the dialogue in the car today....
Cozy~"You know the two scary ladies in the bathtub??"
Atticus~ "no" (laughing)
Cozy~ "They freak me out!"
Atticus~ "What are they doing in there?" (laughing)
Cozy~ "reading books"
Apparently they come up from the drain and read books in the bathtub. I haven't seen them yet!
Maybe she is getting them mixed up with Mimi & Mia (mom & sister) who were just here for thanksgiving and DO read books in the bath and both took baths while they were here?! Hmmm....
