You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.” ~Henry David Thoreau

Funny things my cute KIDS do/say

I am SO entertained and delighted by my children each day. Here are some funny moments....

"My room looks like a tomato went through it!" ~COZY (she looks at it in amazement as if she had nothing to do with it!)

"Mom, I watered the counter for you!"~ATTICUS (after he wiped the counter down...he laughed after that!)

a SCARLETT Funny....I have been trying to get my garden ready and weeding almost everyday. Each time I find a worm Scarlett insists that I give it to her. She holds it like a precious baby doll and I think I saw her kiss one. YUCK! Yesterday, she had her little worm in the stroller and then in her old swing in the garage. She really likes the spiders and centipedes too, but I don't let her play with those!

Where's Matt?

My brother in-law is in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir! Pretty cool! He is a very talented singer! We love that when we watch, Scarlett is intense about finding him and says to us, "Where's Matt?" We are SO proud of him! (he is the one in the middle with his folder up high)

Baby Soleil.....and Disneyland!

We knew we wanted to go for our spring break to meet the kids newest cousin, baby Soleil. I wasn't so sure I wanted to do Disney again though. We have done it too many times with zero lines or special passes that get us on first so I wasn't excited about doing lines with a toddler. It was really about being with the family in the end! It was fun to see Atticus insisting on riding all rides with his Mimi, seeing Mark and Liz play parents for REALS, Cozy transform to a princess and then be treated like one all day by everyone and Scarlett discover the carousel. It was nice to just have Benny there without answering calls! So, it was a great trip! One of my favorite things was hanging out in pjs and watching the nightly firework show in our own beds.....magical! We hit many Yogurtlands each day too to help in dealing with California traffic. Here are some "iphotos". As you can see Scarlett was in love with the baby. That's TOUGH love! (Any photos with Mark, Liz and Mimi you'll have to see on Liz's blog. I was not in charge of taking pics on this trip)

Wenatchee Half Marathon

I know I have other posts that I'm behind on...Easter photos, Disneyland with Mark, Liz, and new baby, BUT all of those photos are on Benny's iphone, SO I promise I will get to them very soon. In the mean time, yesterday I did my third EVER half marathon. I started training back in December as a goal to keep running through the winter. At times it was hard to juggle life and stick to my run schedule and not eat easter candy, but I DID IT! My friend and "momma coach" for the Ragnar this July drove me down in her styling convertible mini coupe. It was fun to at least know someone running even if she was a mile plus ahead of me!
So, here's the scoop....It was a pretty race winding around the Columbia river! It was pretty comfortable until mile 10 and then I could have sat down on the grass. I tried to keep up with two girls running together for the last 3 miles so I could keep a good pace (they probably were sick of me on and off being their shadow)!
I finished at 2:19 just a few minutes better from my Moab time! I don't know what it is about those last 3 miles, but I always feel like my legs are so heavy at the end. ALL in all, it was a FUN race!! Here is the only lame photo of me back at home with my cool medal and t-shirt. I spent the rest of my Saturday watching movies, chasing scarlett, and icing some chafing spots (okay, you didn't need to hear that!)

Things are very sick....

At the moment our laptop is very sick. It can't keep a charge worth anything. I think it's time to get a Popsicle colored mac. I have a hard time buying new tech stuff and giving Benny the green light. I am currently on the old dinosaur computer that sounds like it is an airplane taking off. Atticus learned how to master the mouse when he was only two on this computer. I think I did my last college papers on this one too.
Does anyone know how old our ONLY tv is? Yes, my mom bought it while I was on my mission and it takes two large men to move it. So, like 16+ years! Along with some cash, we traded her our washer and dryer for it. Just so you know...Once we carried a flat screen in our cart all over Costco and then put it back. Obviously we would rather do other things with our money.
Our phone is sick too. Matt D. got us a new phone and I had to return it because too many phones were ringing and it made me anxious. I don't like to have a phone upstairs. I might have to get an old school one with a cord.
Things come in threes...so, Benny's "work" iphone has a terrible fever too. It's probably because of all those angry birds or that ski jumper guy! I like my non-iphone that works (call us!) because people look at it funny when I talk on it. It is made out of cornhusk and 70% recyclable. I like to believe it's not cancerous so I let my kids take pictures on it. No games, just texting and talking capabilities. Old school!
Anyhow, if you can't reach us or think I am done blogging for the year...well, now you know.
