You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.” ~Henry David Thoreau

MOW-WEeeeee!

So, in a NUTSHELL we have decided that we would LOVE to stay in HANA the entire trip and the "other side" or west Maui is too fast pace for us. It's probably because of where we live. Here we live on the east side as well in a place that you really have to make your destination.
Here are some of the photos we took with Benny's iPhone (I didn't want to lug around my Big Camera) Enjoy!

Fruit plate at HULA GRILL (never had dragon fruit before...the hot pink one next to the flower...YUM!)

We went snorkeling at the Molokini crater reef and went on a fast catamaran sailboat (we hit 21 knots if you understand that) My hair was like straw after and Benny's was, the same. Note to self next time: condition and put hair in a tight bun wrapped in a do rag. It was worth it to see Benny with a big grin on his face when we were flying! He was in Sailing Heaven!

Benny at the Luau sporting a James Bond-ish stance (left out the dead pig photo...you are very welcome!)

This was our waiter or "brother", Kai. He was hilarious and kept referring to us as his family!

Black sands beach on the road to HANA!

TRAVAASA HANA (best place to stay, we think, anywhere in MAUI! No clocks, TVs, or kids. Just a lot of R&R minus the crowds. You stay in swanky cottages overlooking the beach!)

Fagans cross in Hana. We were 3 hrs time diff. and at 4 am couldn't sleep. We tried to go back to sleep and then decided early to hike to this cross through a herd of cows. We thought it was a switch back. It was more like dodging cow pies straight up. We even ate guava fruit from a tree, I hope that's what that was!? It was an awesome view at the top and so worth it! Probably one of my favorite things we did! (yes, I am easy to please!)

Bennys new "goal" shoes. I love that Benny trys on shoes when were on vacation!

Jumping in on the music. Benny in the ALOHA spirit!

Our first Luau (Lots of food and entertainment fun & funny! Cozy wouldn't have down well with all the meat!)

So, next I will post photos of the fun time the kids had with Grandmommy. It was comforting to know she was happy to be with the kids and able to take on their schedules! Easier way to relax when you know everyone at home is in good hands! Thanks Grandmommy a ton! MAHALO!

FUN in the MAUI SUN!

This was the first day in MAUI! Benny was eager to get out and sail even if it was windsurfing.

and.....this was the last night in MAUI! A whole week and tired from all the fun, but still sipping!

Eating Fish at our fav. HULA GRILL.....

This photo is esp. for Shannon who I am sure will be happy to see what the food we ate looked like! XO

....more stories and photos to come later!

HOLY HOLE!

Yes, its a HUGE hole!
Might I add that I am just getting over Bronchitis in which I slept for a solid week (or barely slept) upright in a recliner chair, Benny has been crazy busy at work/hospital which means we haven't seen him much, the very next day was the Primary Program where I am the chorister and then THIS! "When it rains it pours", but on the flip side we are HAPPY and otherwise VERY VERY BLESSED !!
