You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.” ~Henry David Thoreau

Wenatchee Half Marathon

I know I have other posts that I'm behind on...Easter photos, Disneyland with Mark, Liz, and new baby, BUT all of those photos are on Benny's iphone, SO I promise I will get to them very soon. In the mean time, yesterday I did my third EVER half marathon. I started training back in December as a goal to keep running through the winter. At times it was hard to juggle life and stick to my run schedule and not eat easter candy, but I DID IT! My friend and "momma coach" for the Ragnar this July drove me down in her styling convertible mini coupe. It was fun to at least know someone running even if she was a mile plus ahead of me!
So, here's the scoop....It was a pretty race winding around the Columbia river! It was pretty comfortable until mile 10 and then I could have sat down on the grass. I tried to keep up with two girls running together for the last 3 miles so I could keep a good pace (they probably were sick of me on and off being their shadow)!
I finished at 2:19 just a few minutes better from my Moab time! I don't know what it is about those last 3 miles, but I always feel like my legs are so heavy at the end. ALL in all, it was a FUN race!! Here is the only lame photo of me back at home with my cool medal and t-shirt. I spent the rest of my Saturday watching movies, chasing scarlett, and icing some chafing spots (okay, you didn't need to hear that!)

Things are very sick....

At the moment our laptop is very sick. It can't keep a charge worth anything. I think it's time to get a Popsicle colored mac. I have a hard time buying new tech stuff and giving Benny the green light. I am currently on the old dinosaur computer that sounds like it is an airplane taking off. Atticus learned how to master the mouse when he was only two on this computer. I think I did my last college papers on this one too.
Does anyone know how old our ONLY tv is? Yes, my mom bought it while I was on my mission and it takes two large men to move it. So, like 16+ years! Along with some cash, we traded her our washer and dryer for it. Just so you know...Once we carried a flat screen in our cart all over Costco and then put it back. Obviously we would rather do other things with our money.
Our phone is sick too. Matt D. got us a new phone and I had to return it because too many phones were ringing and it made me anxious. I don't like to have a phone upstairs. I might have to get an old school one with a cord.
Things come in threes...so, Benny's "work" iphone has a terrible fever too. It's probably because of all those angry birds or that ski jumper guy! I like my non-iphone that works (call us!) because people look at it funny when I talk on it. It is made out of cornhusk and 70% recyclable. I like to believe it's not cancerous so I let my kids take pictures on it. No games, just texting and talking capabilities. Old school!
Anyhow, if you can't reach us or think I am done blogging for the year...well, now you know.

ATTICUS is 10!

WOW! ATTICUS is 10! I can't believe it!
He wanted to do the same theme from last year, Lego Ninjago! Easy for me, thanks!
The week started out with me two days out with serious stomach flu so I didn't get around to planning until the end of the week. Plus, on that same Saturday as his party, Benny and I celebrated our 14th anniversary going out to dinner, and it was my long run day in the morning (I ran 11.5 miles with my running partner!)Lets just say the creativity was minimal from my part, but he had a great day anyhow! I will say I made some of the best cupcakes ever!! Cream Cheese, Butter, and Cocoa were the main ingredients. Can't go wrong with those three! My one and only great idea was turning a tennis ball pinata into a lego ninja head! Just cut out eyes and wrapped it with red tissue paper and soon it was in little pieces. I don't skimp on pinata treats! I put in twix, kit kats, dum dums, starbursts, skittles, and little lego figurines. Have you had pinatas with the stale old crap? Gross!
One of his favorite gifts was the Ninjago Alarm Clock (yes, I go in ever night to disable it so he doesn't get up at 6 am!) It was a good birthday for him and we love him dearly!! 10 favorite things about him..... he is super SWEET,loves his sisters, creative, energetic, deep thinker, has a contagious laugh, sneaky, sensitive, and since forever he has had this little twinkle in his eyes when he smiles!
Here are some of the photos of his birthday party.....

Chasing "Baroons"

This month is always full of events and more events! It has been that way since Benny and I got married March 10th 1998 and when we had Atticus March 8th 2002! (photos and stories to come soon!)
I told Benny that we need to be very careful to keep this month low key since it has always been SO crazy! No committing to anything out of the ordinary! So, of course what did I do? I went against my own wishes and decided we needed to get up Saturday morning at 5:30am to drive an hour away to watch hot air balloons launch. If you know me that is a huge ordeal since I only get up early once or twice a year (Christmas which is not by choice and to fly somewhere)
So, the kids were tossed in the car, thrown some pop tarts, and we were off to Winthrop.
The "Baroons" as Scarlett calls them were not able to take off that morning because of the weather and so I cried a bit. Luckily we got to see a wedding in one which went up 50 feet tethered by ropes attached to cars. Not good enough for me!
Sunday morning 5:30am... same drill. Yes, I made my family do it again hoping we'd see one of the most beautiful things next to stars in the sky! It was amazing and so worth it! Its funny because I'm afraid of heights! I hate being in airplanes, hiking near cliffs, you name it. But there is something soothing and safe about a rainbow balloon attached to a basket. It is so magical to me! I think we counted 17 in the sky! I can't wait to go up in one some day!

Other Photos: Benny was asked to be "dead weight" while they turned the balloon from its side to upright, we saw a bunch of wild turkeys on the road...YUM!, Scarlett loved the brides cute dog.

Karate is Kool !

Here is Atticus at his first tournament in Walla Walla. Benny was also there and competed, but all the photos and video are on his iphone. Both of them got a medal for 5th place in their division which is so AWESOME since this is their first time. We are very fortunate to have such a great group here in Chelan! Here are the photos...
The 5 kids that placed are bowing to the black belt judges.

Atticus performing his "Kada".

"Ah, Ka-ra-te looks good to you?"
(Sara and Tegan are some of the very cute girls from the Chelan group)

Cozy, Scarlett, and I left half way through to explore some shopping in the town. We found a great toy store (Inland Octopus) which if you know me that is what I SO love! A few consignment stores that I left empty handed and a good nap in the car for Scarlett! We brought Quiznos back and I got to do some VS shopping in Kennewick. All in all, I was surprised that Walla Walla actually had a decent downtown!
So,it was a long day, but I was very proud of both my boys and their hard work they put into getting ready! They are looking forward to the May Seattle Tournament!

I got my own workout trying to keep Scarlett out of some of the "rings". That was definitely her first and last tournament!!

A moment of Peace?

Sunday afternoon and I find a moment to relax on the floor and work on my crossword puzzle (no laughs people!).
Atticus was messing around with my camera and had it on multiple snap shots and caught the photos below.
This is what I get when I take a little break from the day!?
